Travola
is a gorgeous sabino Dutch Warmblood mare with an outstanding pedigree and an
impressive competition record. She is very sensitive and
uncomplicated under saddle, incredibly light in her mouth, collects
beautifully with minimal contact, and is such a motivated jumper that she
will go out of her way to jump anything... including ground poles!
Travola
was imported as a yearling and competed
|
|
extensively as a 6-year old in USEF Level 5
competitions (1.20m Level M = 4'0" in height with spreads 4'0" to
4'6") in Florida, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. She was shown by International Grand Prix show jumping riders Niall Grimes,
Markus
Beerbaum and Alison
Firestone-Robitaille as well as up-and-coming young
rider
Katherine Newman. In 2007, Travola began competing at Level 6 (as
seen in the photo above, 1.30m
Level Z = 4'3" in
height with spreads 4'3" to 4'9") but developed an anomaly on
her front pastern and the decision was made to retire her sound. Travola will now begin a new
career as one of our select broodmares.
Travola's
sire, Baloubet du
Rouet, was declared the 2004 Best Horse in the World and with his rider Rodrigo Pessoa, won the Individual Gold Medal
in show jumping at
the 2004 Olympic games in Athens and were recipients of the Team Bronze
Medal at the
2000 Olympic games in Sydney. Baloubet's sire, Galoubet A, ranked third on the
WBFSH standings for 2000/2001 and was a successful international show
jumper himself. Great
grandsire Almé
also competed internationally in jumping and is the dually recognized "Father of World
Breeding" and the Selle Français "Stallion of the
Century".
Grandsire Nimmerdor was declared the
Dutch Preferent Sire of the Century and competed in numerous World Cups and
International competitions and was also selected for the Los Angeles
Olympics. Le
Mexico was also a well-known jumper producer and obtained a high
jumping breeding value of 146 and reliability of 96% due to the success of
his progeny. Travola's dam,
Maravola, was awarded the Keur Preferent predicate that is indicative of
her
high quality progeny as well as her
conformation, movement and performance capabilities. At the National
Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in September 2005, Maravola's colt, Ap-Art by
Quidam de Revel, sold for an astounding € 49,000! Maravola is a
full sister of Garavola, an international Grand Prix show jumper and with
rider Leon Thijssen were recipients of the Aga Khan Trophy of the Nations
Cup at the Kerrygold Horse Show in Dublin in 1999.
Several
of Travola's grand dams have been awarded the Preferent
and/or Prestatie
predicates indicating that they have produced at least 3
offspring that have achieved at least M2 (4' jumping or Third Level dressage).
Shantah produced two national show jumpers and she herself is a full
sister to the international show jumper Suleiman.
Travola
is a substantially-built and colorful mare with loud sabino
expression. She will attend the KWPN-NA keuring in September 2008
and is eligible to receive her Keur Sport
predicate. We are extremely fortunate to have such a well breed
mare with proven jumping talent in our breeding program.
