Jamaica is a spectacular buckskin Swedish Warmblood mare that displays similar qualities as her top dressage ancestors with her excellent reach, great tracking, and rhythmical gaits.  She has a lovely soft mouth and frames beautifully on light contact.  She has a kind and gentle personality and is an outstanding babysitter that will even allow foals that are not her own to share her feed with her.

She competed in both Training and First Level (Open Division) dressage classes at recognized USDF-USEF shows in late 2005 where she won four of her classes and placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in three other classes.  At one competition, she receivedthe third highest score out of all competitors across all divisions and had a top score of 65%!  Jamaica has also schooled over 3'3" courses and is a very brave and eager jumper that will not refuse any jump.  Although a little shy, she is very willing and super honest and rides with very light contact in a loose ring French link without any aids.

Jamaica is by the elite buckskin Swedish Warmblood dressage sire, Bernstein 761, who was the #2 ranked Swedish Warmblood stallion in the world in 2003 behind Amiral, his half brother, who was ranked #1.  Flyinge Amiral competed in the international dressage circuit with appearances at both the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.  

In the 2003 BLUP (Best Linear Unbiased Prediction), Bernstein ranked 2nd for gaits, 4th for confirmation and 7th overall with a score of 93%, and was winner of his stallion test in Sweden receiving 9's for his trot and canter.  In that same year, Bernstein was also ranked #28 on the USEF Leading Dressage Sires Rankings.  Bernstein’s get compete at the international and Grand Prix levels and have been recipients of the Best in Show award and Breeder’s Trophy.  Bernstein himself was the recipient of the 2001 Dressage Sire Breeder’s Trophy.

Bernstein is by the elite stallion, Napoleon 625, who is also the sire Flyinge Amiral as well as other world famous offspring.  Napoleon is ranked in the top five sires of the world for producing dressage horses. 

Orkan 444 is recognized as one of Sweden's top producing stallions and is a foundation sire for the breed.  For many years, the elite stallion, Utrillo 432, was the top sire of competition horses in Sweden.  He sired top breeding stallions, successful broodmares and international Sport Horses, two of which competed in the 2000 Olympic Games.  Today, most top competitors in Sweden carry Utrillo once or more in their pedigree.  In his time, Utrillo was ranked 1st on the BLUP index as sire of jumpers and 8th as sire of conformation horses, had an overall score of 97% and his BLUP Total Index Score was 123.

Like her sire, Bernstein, Jamaica looks more bay than buckskin, but she has undergone genetic testing to confirm that she does indeed carry the dilution gene.  She has had 1 chestnut Warmblood filly, and 1 palomino Warmblood colt.  We are thrilled to have such a unique and talented mare amongst our group.
